Question:
Is the icx transmitter required for proper functioning of the even brake or just and additional monitoring device
asked by: Robert H
Expert Reply:
I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster regarding the Even Brake Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400. He stated that the Transmitter # RM-9420 is indeed required for proper operation of the system. The transmitter not only sends signals to the monitor in the cab so you know that everything is working properly but it also communicates with the system as you apply the brakes to allow for proper function. Without the transmitter the Even Brake would sense an error and would not work correctly.
If you also need the replacement monitor/receiver you can use part # RM-9410. For both the transmitter and receiver in one kit you can use part # RM-9430.
