If you want your setup to look clean when you’re not towing, this base plate makes it easy. The hidden design keeps brackets from sticking out past the front, and the removable arms leave a smooth, factory look once they’re off. Receiver covers plug into the open ends to keep out dirt and debris while giving a finished appearance.

Connecting your tow bar only takes a few seconds thanks to the twist-lock attachment. Slide the arm into the receiver, rotate until it locks, and secure it with the pin. When you’re done towing, just pull the pin, twist again, and remove the arm. It’s a solid setup that keeps hook-ups quick and reliable every time.

This kit bolts directly to the chassis with no welding required. The sturdy design spreads towing forces evenly to help prevent stress on your suspension. The durable steel construction is powder coated to resist rust and corrosion so it holds up through long-distance towing year after year.
The sturdy lugs pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection. If you’re running a Roadmaster or Demco tow bar, adapters (RM-031, RM-031-5, or DM9523041, sold separately) make it an easy fit. Integrated mounting points let you attach an electrical connector plug bracket (sold separately), keeping your wiring neat and accessible up front.
No need for fabrication—everything bolts on with the included mounting hardware. Most installers can knock it out in an afternoon using basic tools. With bracket spacing of 18" and a bracket height of 13", you can set up your tow bar alignment confidently and get on the road without hassle.

I am glad you were able to get it installed with no issues and a little help from our video! What kind of coach are you pulling the Kia Soul with?

Its been two years since installation of the Blue Ox Baseplate. Since then, Ive flat towed the CRV from NJ to FL and back three separate times with many other shorter trips in between. Paired with a Blue Ox Tow Bar, the system has worked flawlessly since installation.

Thanks for the detailed review Chris, and the pointers! This will be most helpful to others. What was your favorite stop in those 7,000 miles? Where did you go, what did you see?

Follow up. Ive put about 8000 miles on the setup and its been great. A 34 ton suburban pulls nicely behind my Dutch star, and they dont have a steering lock so its nice not to have to retrieve keys when stopping for the night. I have used the safety cable attachment a few times for straight line pulls with a small shackle when working as a rally racing volunteer, its been fine but I wouldnt side pull on it.

It has been a good system. I would still give it 4 stars a year later just because it was a difficult job to install. Not for the faint of heart. So far have about 6k miles of towing with it. Would I do it again….Yes as it was worth the effort.
