Sealant Recommendation for Installing RV Ladder on Roof

What kind of sealant is used on the RV motor home roof between the ladder. I have been told to put putty tape on the roof mounting points and after screwing the ladder to the roof they said to use dicore sealant completely around the mounting points and to the surrounding area near the roof mounting points. Is this correct?

Dicor brand RV roof sealant would be a great choice. We have the LaSalle Bristol XTRM Universal Self-Leveling Sealant # 34427034145-1 would work great for sealing the roof mounting points on the RV ladder after screwing the ladder in place.
