Suggestion for Mounting 7-Way Connector at Rear of 2005 Toyota Matrix XR
Updated 10/10/2018 | Published 10/09/2018 >
Question:
Hi. This long bracket on a 2005 Toyota matrix XR puts the adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole to close to the ground. This adapter is about 1.25 lower than the hitch opening, which is already low with the underbody spoiler. This low positioning of the adapter causes it to rub against the ground just to back out of the driveway with a slight decline. So i had to quickly uninstall the adapter. Is there a better way to position this adapter on my matrix with the underbody spoiler?

Instead of attaching the bracket to the lower spoiler your best option would be to attach it to the body above and behind the spoiler. That will get it out of the way and also out of plainsight.
