Question:
I have a 2009 Honda CRV 4-cyl and it doesnt come with a hitch when I purchased it. If I were to install one, does it affect the cars engine or transmission for towing? I thought the manufacturer has to do something extra to the car like transmission? engine? when they add a hitch to it for towing. I plan to get class I and tow less than 1500 pounds.

Some vehicles may come with a factory tow package that includes other equipment or things may be tuned differently. But hitches can still be installed on models that do not have that factory tow package without having to add additional equipment or make any changes to the motor or transmission. That is why for some vehicles the owner's manual will state different capacities for models with and without the towing package.
If you add a hitch to your 2009 Honda CR-V, such as # C11555, you will not have to do anything else to the vehicle. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
The recommended ball mount with the Curt hitch is # C45521. Then use # F-4 for the pin and clip. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256. For a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring you can use # 118427 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle.
