Will the Demco Recon Gooseneck Adapter Work with a Mumby Gooseneck Trailer Hitch

Question:

I have a mumby receiver in the bed of my truck it has a chain plate that swivels on the base of the ball. Problem is the ball seems to be rusted into the receiver and i cant remove it. Will the recon hitch still fit on the ball with the chain plate attached.

The rotating safety chain plate on your Mumby Gooseneck Trailer Hitch will need to be removed in order to use the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # DM8550045 but you won't need it for this setup anyway. I spoke with both manufacturers (Demco/Mumby) and neither of them have used each others products together but I don't see any reason as to why they would not work if the rotating safety chain plate was first removed. If you are having trouble removing the safety chain plate then you should be able to use a bit of lube and a large hammer to knock it free.
