Expert Reply:
To install a 7-Way RV connector at the rear of your 2008 Nissan Frontier, you will need to start with a working 4-Way connector and then install a brake controller installation kit, # ETBC7, which has all of the wiring and parts needed to complete the installation of a brake controller and 7-Way trailer wiring.
If your Frontier does not already have a 4-Way connector installed you can use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with Relays, # C56225, to install one, see instructions link. You would then use the instructions, see link, for the brake controller installation kit to complete the installation of the 7-Way trailer connector, power wire and a brake controller, if needed. We have a video installation of this kit that should prove helpful, the vehicle is different, but the wiring principles are the same.
If your trailer is equipped with a 7-Way RV connector, then you will most likely need a brake controller to activate electric trailer brakes. The Prodigy P2 brake Controller, # 90885, is our best selling brake controller and is easy to use and setup.
