Wiring Replacement Motor for Lippert 113407 Stabilizer Jack System

Question:
I need to purchase and install a Klauber C-800 replacement motor for my rear Lippert stabilizer #113407. I have pulled out the old motor and find that the black, thick wiring from the motor disappears into the underbody of my trailer directly below my shower pan in my rear bathroom. I see no way of tracing the wire back to wherever it is connected. My question is: Is it OK to just splice the new wire from the Klauber into the existing wire coming out from the underbelly? That would mean the splice is exposed to the elements and I would need to do my best to waterproof and protect it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The C-800 Replacement Klauber Motor # LC138445 that you referenced is the correct motor for your Lippert 113407 stabilizer jack system. As long as you seal up the wire connections you can splice into the wiring that you're able to access when installing the new motor. Using heat shrink butt connectors like # DW05745-5 will do a nice job of protecting those connections from the elements.
