Question:

I have a Yakima Rocketbox 15s that was purchased in 2011. We have managed to lose the keys and I need to order a replacement. It is currently locked so I do not have access to the core. Do the 15s all have the same core where someone could tell me which key I need to order or will it require we calling a locksmith and ordering a control key?

There was not one universal lock core for a Yakima Rocketbox so what you need to do is have a locksmith unlock the cores.

From there you have a couple options. The first is to use the Replacement Control Key for Yakima Same Key System # Y8007835 to remove the core and look for the core number; you can then order replacement keys. For example if your lock core had "A132" on it you would need Replacement Key for Yakima Racks and Carriers - A132 # Y8772-A132.

The other option is to have the locksmith unlock the cores and then simply replace them with Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores # Y07202, which comes with two lock cores, two keys and a control key to remove your old cores.
