Troubleshooting Latch Pin Connection on Andersen Ultimate Hitch Ball Funnel

Question:

My connection ball funnel broke when the tow vehicle rolled forward slightly when unhooking. I bought a replacement but no instructions on how to replace it. The locking pin must come out some way.

The Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter # AM3200 will have the funnel you mentioned that simply bolts onto your king pin and uses the remote latch cable to disconnect from the hitch ball. It sounds like you have broken the pin to release the hitch ball. Bending that latch pin will make it so that you won't be able to easily remove that pin as it won't retract. You will need to either use a strong pliers to retract that pin, or you will need to drill it out. In either case you will need to replace that cable pin assembly. If you need to remove that assembly it is threaded into the funnel so you will need to unscrew it.
