Can License Plate be Placed on Top of Tail Light Assembly of Detail K2 Mighty Multi Utility Trailer
Published 07/27/2018 >
Question:
So I would rather have the license above the rear light instead of below it. Ive read several reports that in dump situations, the license can be damaged hanging below like that. My question, what if the rear light brackets were just installed in reverse of the directions, would that put the license on the other sise of the trailer, on top of the light bracket?

While I appreciate your ingenuity, you cannot install the light brackets in reverse so the license plate is on the right-hand (passenger's side) when installing the tail light assemblies of the Detail K2 Mighty Multi A-Frame Utility Trailer # K2MMT5X7.
The reason is, the light assemblies have a hole on the inside which the wiring goes through and allows it to connect to the light. That hole would be covered if you switched assemblies because the brackets would be facing the opposite way, meaning there would not be a way to get the wiring to the light assembly.
We have had customers fabricate their own assembly to put the license plate on top which, if you find the plate's location to be a concern, is something you could do with parts from a local hardware store. I recommend installing it as in the directions first to see if there is going to be an issue and then make any modifications if you find them necessary.
