Question:
I recently bought a toy hauler with the fifth wheel gooseneck adapter, I want to go back to fifth wheel but cannot get the coupler off. I removed the gooseneck part but can not get the coupler around the kingpin to break loose, is there a trick. Thanks in advance

If an adapter like the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # AM3100 has been in place on a king pin for a good long time, it will tend to want to stay there.
The install instructions (step 4) advise to apply plenty of anti-seize grease to the king pin, the split
collets and the threaded collar. This step is to make removal easier. If the adapter has been installed for a very long time this grease, if it was applied initially as recommended, may have solidified. The black base part of the adapter must be unscrewed for removal.
There are some tools included with or specifically made for use with this adapter, the Spanner Wrench # AM3104 that tightens the adapter around the inner threaded collar and pin box during initial installation, and the Slide Hammer # AM3103. The slide hammer is used to pull the threaded collar over the split collar halves that surround the king pin on the trailer. The adapter base of the Ranch Hitch fifth-wheel-to-gooseneck adapter then screws on to the threaded collar.
I have sent the written instructions to you in a separate email.
