Will the Thule Hullavator Pro Fit a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Mopar Crossbars

Question:

Hi, I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with standard Mopar crossbars I am interested in getting a Thule Hullavator Pro for carrying my kayak and was wondering if this would fit on my crossbars. Thules website lists only their own bars as comparable, by my crossbars look a lot like the Thule AeroBlade, and it even has the slot down the middle on top, so my question is will the Mopar bars work with the Hullavator?

The Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier # TH898 will likely fit your Mopar roof rack on your 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Even if it doesn't fit the top channel it can still clamp around the bars. The carrier was designed to fit round, square, aero, elliptical, most factory crossbars, and most crossbars with top channels.

But there needs to be 4 to 8 inches of crossbar sticking out beyond each of the feet or rail for it to function properly and not make contact with the vehicle. I have included a picture explaining this for you.

Another option is to go with Malone J-style carrier # MPG114MD and then add the TelosXL load assist # MPG351XL. It is a similar set up except that the TelosXL is not permanently attached to the carrier.
