For your 2012 Ford Focus SE, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11158. This is a custom fit for both the sedan and hatchback as they install the same way and I've attached a video to assist. This is a no drill installation, but the heat shield underneath will need to be trimmed for fit.

For your wiring, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118548. This will install behind your tail lights to the factory wiring harness with the quick connectors. You will then run that power wire to your vehicle battery, and I've attached an article to assist with that cable routing.

If you will be towing, I then recommend the Draw-Tite ball mount # 3593 which comes with a pin and clip. You then will add a hitch ball like # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch diameter or # 19258 for a 2 inch diameter to match your trailer coupler.
