Question:
Hi, I know you get this one all the time, but I need your help. I have a 25foot Forest River Micro Lite. 6800 lbs dry weight. What size Equalizer hitch do I need 10k or 12k? Loaded up I approximate 7500 lbs water, bikes, tools. For the tongue weight I just used the 10 rule and cargo weight in my truck I estimate about 225 lbs. Will you help put me out of my misery on this one :

Thanks for the information. Based on your approximate weights and the fact you were on the low end of tongue weight you would already be almost at the max capacity of the 1,000 lb system so I absolutely recommend going with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway # EQ37120ET. This system is rated for that total tongue weight between 800 and 1200 lbs, so you will be in the sweet spot whether your estimations were a little light or even if they were a little heavy.
With this system, you will also need a hitch ball to match your trailer coupler. If it requires a 2-5/16 inch diameter ball then use # 19286, but if it is 2 inch use # A-90. You will also need the thin walled socket # ALL643216 for installing the hitch ball.
