The only trunk-mounted bike rack that will allow you to open the trunk of your 2014 VW Jetta is the SeaSucker Komodo Trunk Bike Rack # 298-BK1910-SV because it mounts with four vacuum cups instead of straps. The reason a trunk cannot open with a trunk-mounted rack is because opening the trunk will cause the straps to loosen and the rack to fall off.

The vast majority of trunk-mounted bike racks use straps to secure to vehicles so they need to be removed before opening your trunk. For your '14 Jetta I recommend the Yakima FullBack # Y02634, which features anti-sway cradles that have heavy-duty padding and ratcheting straps to secure your bikes at three different points to keep them from making contact with one another. The racks have arms which adjust and fold down for when you are not using the rack, are made of steel to ensure durability and padded to protect your Jetta. The FulBack # Y02634 is a 2-bike rack; there is also a 3-bike model, part # Y02633.

Additionally, please note that when using any hanging rack like the FullBack you'll need bike frame adapter bar # Y02531 if your bike is dual-suspension, has a step-through frame or you want to carry a small children's bike. The bar will give those bikes a horizontal mounting point so they can be carried by the rack.

This is a great option, though like all the other trunk-mounted racks except the SeaSuckers, will not allow you to open your Jetta's trunk.
