Question:

I have a 2006 Starcraft 19CK with the spare tire in the middle of the 4X4inch bumper. What is the best two bike rack for this setup. My tow car is a 2000 Dodge Durango which has a roof rack.

For your 2006 Starcraft 19CK trailer I recommend taking a look at the Swagman Around the Spare Deluxe 2 Bike Rack # S80501. This bike rack is designed specifically for trailers like yours that have a rear mounted spare tire at the bumper. This will attach to your 4 inch square bumper (as long as it is continuously welded steel) and its support brackets will extend the bike cradles past a spare tire.

As long as the distance from your bumper to the outermost edge of the spare tire is not more than 12-3/4 inches, this rack will clear the spare without interference. It can safely secure 2 bikes of up to 35 pounds each. I have attached a short video demonstration on this bike rack so you can see exactly how it installs.

If you plan on carrying any children's, woman's, or alternative frame bikes, you might also need an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01. This provides a horizontal attachment point for level transport and improved ground clearance.
