Question:
I am purchasing theCurt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4inch - C11700. Several questions: 1. Is this the right one for a Honda Element 2005 4WD? I am wondering why it wouldnt be 2. I am planning to pull a Uhaul trailer: do i need a drawbar, a ball, wiring? Thank you!

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11700 is a fit for your 2005 Honda Element with 4WD. However, this hitch only has a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening and since you plan to be towing a trailer then I highly recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e78KR because it has a 2" receiver tube opening.
As you mentioned you will also need a trailer wiring harness and ball mount/hitch ball. For a trailer wiring harness I recommend the Hopkins Tail Light Converter Kit part # HM48925 as it is one of the most cost effective options we have for you. Then for the ball mount/hitch ball I recommend the Ball Mount Kit part # 989900 which comes with two different ball mounts and hitch balls that will accommodate most trailers.
