SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional Item # SM99251 We have a 2015 Mini Cooper S. Can the install be accomplished without modifying the interior? Read one of the reviews and the person had to remove the passenger seat and raise it to have room for the unit.

My contact at SMI advised that they have not done an install of their Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 on a 2015 Mini Cooper S (nor have we) but that by choice or necessity some owners have chosen to install the larger control unit component inside a vehicle's passenger compartment. You can refer to the linked review video to see all parts of the kit.
The least-invasive braking system installation comes from the portable and wireless Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This can be used in your Cooper S as long as it has an active power assist braking system. Another advantage of this wireless system, apart from the non-invasive installation, is that it can move to your next towed vehicle when that time comes.
