For your 2005 Chevy Cavalier, I recommend the Roadmaster XL Base Plates, # 3116-1. These base plates are compatible with the Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020, that you have selected. In order to make the arms of the XL base plates removable when using the Tracker tow bar, you will also need quick disconnects, # RM-201.
Base plate installation can be an involved task, but if you have experience with automotive projects and all the tools required, you should be able to complete the installation at home with no additional cost beyond the parts. If you do not have all of the tools needed you would need to purchase or borrow them which could lead to additional cost.
You will also need safety cables. I recommend the coiled safety cables, # RM-643. The coiled design will keep the cables from touching the ground.
In addition to cables, you will also need a lighting solution. There are several lighting options depending on your specific needs and how often you will be towing the vehicle. I have included a link to an FAQ article that covers the various options.
Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being towed. The easiest to set up and use is the Roadmaster Even Brake, # RM-9400. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. This reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
I have also included a link to our series of FAQ articles on flat towing for you.
