What Size is the Replacement Skewer # 8535256

Can you tell me the diameter of this skewer? We bought a 9mm replacement for front fork mount roof rack and it is too big for the old Thule piece.

I went out to the warehouse and found that the Replacement Skewer for the Thule Tandem Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part # 8535256, has a 9mm diameter. The only reason I can think that your 9mm skewer didn't work is if the treads were slightly larger.
