can you tow a 1998 jeep grand cherokee v8 auto trans behind motorhome without special equip.

I checked on the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and found that as long as the vehicle has selectable 4 wheel drive with a neutral position in the transfer case is towable as is.

If the vehicle is rear wheel drive only, and has the 42RLE transmission a transmission lube pump is required.

If the vehicle has an auto transmission other than the 42RLE the vehicle is not towable and will need to be trailered.

If the vehicle is AWD without a nuetral position in the transfer case it is trailer only.

Finally, if the vehicle has a manual transmission it is towable as is.

If you find that your vehicle can be flat towed you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, wiring, safety cables and auxiliary braking system to safely tow. I have linked some articles with information for you to review.
