Is Electric Trailer Brake Kit with Dacromet Coating AKEBRK-7-D Good for Saltwater Use

Question:

Are these electric brakes suitable for saltwater, we have uncoated electric brake system however after being in and out of saltwater 4 times during the year than sitting they seemed to have seized up, with some effort we are able to get them to move and are taking some emery cloth to the drum however we are unsure how well the magnet will work possibly looking to replace or upgrade

Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-D will be more suitable for saltwater applications that traditional brakes. This is because of the corrosion resistant properties of the dacromet coating. That puts them somewhere between stainless steel and galvanized steel.

I recommend with these or any brakes you choose to rinse them off with fresh water once you are done for the day so as to prolong the life of the brakes and not run into the problem that you are having now.
