Question:

Hello I am looking at the 3 step Forklift TLA8003. My travel trailer has a very long top step from stair to trailer floor. Could you tell me what the distance would be from the top of the frame bracket to the top step? Also, there are often times when depending on the grading of the various sites, that only 1 step is needed and others where 3 or more are required. If these steps cant extend totally, will the steps still be useable, I.e. each level with a shorter rise? Thank you.

My TorkLift contact advised that on their GlowStep Revolution Scissor Step # TLA8003 the distance from the top of the frame bracket down to the top step is 7-inches. Unlike most others this step offers some adjustability.

If you are at a campsite that does not allow you to fully extend the step unit it is still perfectly fine to use it when only partially extended. I confirmed with TorkLift.

I would like to mention an item that often helps RV-ers with pets, especially older pets (as well as older human travelers too) which is a free-standing platform step. These are larger than RV steps and can make it less scary when exiting the trailer since they offer a large stepping surface. One example is # S-150 but we have many others that you can see on the linked page.
