2 inch Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Volvo XC90 Carrying Bike Rack

Question:

Ive got a 2017 Volvo XC90 R-Design and need a class III receiver hitch. Not planning to do any towing - this will primarily be used for mounting a bike rack that will stay in place for probably 8-9 months of the year. Need something that can hold the weight of 3-4 bikes while travelling without support from additional strapping. I saw the following item recommended: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch Item # C53HR. Like the idea of it, but absolutely cannot install myself. Do you have any dealers or installers close to me that can install? Live in Zionsville, IN 46077. Any recommendations? Thanks -

For a Class III, 2 inch hitch confirmed as a fit for your 2017 Volvo XC90 that would work great for carrying a bike rack the best option would be the Curt # C53HR.

Since hitch installs are pretty basic for most mechanics any local mechanic near you with a good reputation would be a great choice.

My personal favorite 4-bike rack is the Kuat NV 2.0 Base # BA22B-BA02B because it is very well thought-out and it looks really nice. If you're looking for something a bit more budget friendly then I really like the Yakima BackRoad # YA44FR. The biggest difference is that the NV 2.0 Base makes no contact with the bike frame so it's great for sensitive frames (like carbon) or nice paint jobs, while the BackRoad is lighter and takes up less space in your garage.
