Recommended 18 Inch Hitch Extender to Clear Truck Camper on Ford F-350

The longest standard hitch extender we have available for 2 inch receivers is the Brophy # ST18. This particular extender measures right at 18 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch to the center of the hitch pin hole on the adapter's receiver. You can take a quick measurement out from the center of the hitch pin hole on your existing trailer hitch to see if this length will clear your camper's overhang. If you find you need a bit more length, you can also combine this with a longer ball mount such as the Curt # D-26, which measures 12-5/8 inches from the center of the pin hole to the center of the ball hole.

A couple of things though that you will want to keep in mind when using this or any hitch adapter is that it will decrease the tongue weight capacity on your trailer hitch by 33-1/3 percent. This adapter also features a 3,500 pound towing weight capacity, which is on the low end of your desired range. This is the highest rated 18 inch extension that we have available. Its 3,500 pound towing capacity can be increased to 7,000 pounds if used with a weight distribution system.

If you happen to have a 2-1/2 inch hitch receiver on your F-350, we do have the Curt Hitch Extension # C45048, which measures either 24 inches long or 34 inches long, depending on which hitch pin hole you use. It has a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. It will provide a 2 inch receiver on the other end.
