The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control like # BXW1000 can't be set up correctly or be the proper system for your trailer weight if you are having sway problems at 55 mph. I've attached some videos as well as the installation details for you to assist in the installation of your system. I've also attached an article with common questions about weight distribution. It sounds to me like you may not have the properly rated system.
Based on your weights, I recommend the # BXW0750 system to give you the total tongue weight range most likely needed for your trailer.
I also recommend that you do what you can do redistribute the weight inside your trailer. If you can move weight closer to the tongue, that will help and keeping as much weight as possible in front of the rear axle of your trailer will also help.
Let me know if you have further questions.
