Can Shocks of Trailer be Used with Dexter Over Under Kit

Question:
Id like to raise my KZ 5er toy hauler. Im looking at kit# K71-385-00. I have a couple questions: first my u-bolts are 9/16inch and the kit uses 3/8, I realize that the u-bolts would no longer be carrying the weight of the trailer, but 3/8inch looks kinda wimpy. 2nd question: how do the shocks mount?

The Dexter Over Under kit part # K71-385-00 is designed for 3 inch axles which are typically between 5,200 and 7,200 lbs in capacity. The U-bolts that come with this are rated for that amount of weight so you would not need to worry about them being strong enough as they are.
I attached a picture that shows how shock kits install on a trailer that has the axle mounted below the leaf spring. You may have to reuse your spring plate since that is where the shocks attach to.
