Question:

Will the Y8890174 work with Yakima 8880581 HoldUp tongue 1.25 or do I have to buy Yakima 8880580 HoldUp tongue 2. I only plan on using this rack for only 2 bikes and never plan on adapting rack for a 4 bike carrier.

You will need the Yakima Replacement Spine Assembly for 2 inch HoldUp Bike Racks, item # 8890277, to replace the shank on your 1-1/4 inch HoldUp rack and make it work correctly in your 2 inch hitch. The Replacement 2 inch Hitch Adapter for Yakima Flipside, DoubleDown and StickUp Bike Carriers, item # Y8890174, is not designed to work with the HoldUp racks.

As an alternative you could use the Hitch Reducer 2 inch to 1-1/4 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver, item # HT02, to reduce the 2 inch hitch to 1-1/4 inch for use of the HoldUp.
