Question:
I purchased a new set of trailer lights. They only have 4 wires, white, brown, yellow and red. no green. Will they adapt to the main cable. Currently the 4 wires used are red, white, green and brown.

Although trailer wiring colors can sometimes match up, it is always best to test the functions of each wire with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to ensure that you properly install the lights.
Since trailer wiring color can vary depending on what color wiring was handy at any given install time I wouldn't be concerned that the colors don't match up. You may find that the red wire on your light needs to be connected to the green wire on your trailer.
If you use the tester, you can be 100% sure that you installed everything correctly. Just hook your trailer up to your vehicle and run through the various light functions while testing the wires.
