Best Pin Box Upgrade for a Lippert 1621 on a Grand Design Reflection 303RLS

Question:

I’m a new 5th wheel owner and I have purchased a Grand Design Reflection 303RLS. It currently has a Lippert 1621 pin box on it. What is the BEST replacement pin box that I can purchase. Money is not an object as I want whatever it takes for the BEST and SAFEST ride possible. Thank you,

The best replacement pin box for the Lippert 1621 on your Grand Design Reflection 303RLS is a 5th Airborne from Reese. These pin boxes have an adjustable air spring and shock absorber which will reduce the back and forth chucking (stopping and taking off) by 60% and lower the shock from bumps by 44%. This not only helps to give you a great towing experience, but it also helps to reduce the vibration inside the coach.

When I looked up your Grand Design it looked like the GVWR was just under 12,000 lbs. If this is the case then you want the 16K # 5AB-E1621-16K or the Sidewinder 16K version # RP61422. A Sidewinder pin box is typically used for truck beds that are less than 6' long for trailer-to-cab turning clearance. If you have a bed that is less than 8' long you can still use the Sidewinder to keep you from having to use a sliding 5th wheel hitch.

If you want to go the Sidewinder route let me know what your 5th wheel hitch is. The Sidewinder moves the pivot point from the king pin to the turret that attaches to your trailer and does have some restrictions when it comes to usage with 5th wheel hitches.

I have attached some videos for you to check out as well.
