Question:

Might you please explain which hitch is best for the 2015 Highlander? I have a 2500lb sail boat that I only need to tow 2 times a year at 35 miles per trip. The Highlander is brand new to me so I want to make the right decision. Your website and videos are truly excellent. Thank you for providing such thorough information.

For your 2015 Toyota Highlander the best option is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13200. It has great towing capacities and will be great for your boat or even to carry a bike or cargo if you decide.

For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # 118449 which is a confirmed fit as well.

Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
