Question:

This was not purchased from your company but my research has directed me your way. My Unit was factory installed by Winnebago. After having to tear it out because of the active fire, I feel that It maybe Winnebago isnt installing it properly. Do you have installation instructions and parts available? After some investigation I found that the fire was localized and the only real damage is with what appears to be the device that connects the power cord to the unit. Thanks for any help you can give

The 26" Electric Fireplace with Remote Control is the exact part number you attached in your photo. I agree that it is most likely a wiring issue but that unit should have shut off prior to overheating and having an actual fire. I've attached the installation instructions for that unit to further assist in your troubleshooting. I highly recommend testing every electrical connection using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 or multimeter like # PT89ZR to confirm proper function before reinstalling another unit or refurbishing the current one. There should be a certain gauge of wire used as well as circuit breakers or fuses in line to avoid this.
