Is a Capture Plate Needed to use Demco Hijacker With Trailair Flex Air on 2017 Ford F-250?

Question:

Purchased , recriver and installed a Demco hijacker autoslide with little confusion until opening the plastic bag with the latch/unlatch handle. Cannot figure out what the check the included blue neoprene disc in that parts group is intended to do/be or where. Help

I spoke with a representative of Demco who confirmed for me that you will need to use Demco Hijacker Autoslide Capture Plates # DM6171 along with the Demco Hijacker # DM8550024 fifth wheel hitch if you have a Trailair Flex Air such as # LC328492.

The Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550024 is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Ford F-250 with the factory prep package; I've added a link to a video review of the hitch and capture plate for you to take a look at as well.

I believe what you are referring to is the Urethane Bumper such as the # DM15469. This part does need to be installed into the hitch head of your Demco Hijacker # DM8550024 and if you look on page 5 of the linked instructions it states that the bumper "press into hole that is punched into the bottom side of the hitch." The accompanying cutout of the instructions I've added shows you where this bumper is mentioned.
