Yes, you can use the Thule Hull-A-Port, kayak carrier, # TH834, on the factory rack on your 2011 BMW X3. This carrier is designed to fit on most any factory cross bar.
To be safe, you should check the vehicle owners manual for roof and cross bar capacity to be sure the vehicle roof and factory cross bars are capable of carrying the weight of the carrier and your kayak.
You may also want to consider a set of Hood Loops, # TH529, to help secure the Kayak at the front and rear of your vehicle.
