Truck Bed Bike Rack Recommendation for a 1999 Chevrolet S10 Extended Cab Pickup

Question:

I have been looking around for a bike rack, but i cant find the appropriate one for my truck. my truck is a s10 extended cab 1999. will the yakima block head single bike truck bed mounted rack - bolt-on fit to my truck and my road bike? if not, is there any other rack that will fit?

As long as the front wheel on your bike is connected to the front fork with a 9-mm quick mount skewer, you can bolt the Yakima BlockHead bike carrier, # Y01117, to any part of the truck bed that is sufficient to carry the bike, normally the truck bed rails. This carrier requires drilling and bolting the head to your truck bed.

I would recommend the Thule Bed-Rider 2, # TH822XTR, fork mount rack, that can be easily installed and removed, and uses the same style of fork mount attachment. This way you will not have to drill into your truck bed to carry your bikes and the rack can be removed when the full truck bed is needed.

If your bike does not have a quick mount skewer on the front wheel, then the Topline 2 Bike Bed Mounted Expandable Bike Rack, item # UG2500, would be a good choice for carrying bikes in the bed of your S10.
