Troubleshooting Sidewinder/Reese Revolution that Tows at an Angle
Updated 02/05/2018 | Published 02/04/2018 >
Question:
I only have about 700 miles on my Reese 16K Revolution. I’ve noticed that the pin box is never straight. It’s seems to be always turned 10 to 15 deg towards the left side of my towing vehicle. On my last trip, I noticed that I had more trailer on one side of my truck than the other, by view in my side mirrors, while on the hiway at 65 mph. It sometimes makes a groaning sound while parking. This has also made it difficult to disconnect after backing or pulling into a site. I apologize for asking this question, if already explained in your forum. Thank you.

Helpful Expert Reply:
If your Sidewinder/Reese Revolution isn't tracking straight behind your trailer it is because of a wedge issue on the Sidewinder.
You could be using the wrong wedge for your hitch or it needs to be orientated properly.
Check out the installation instructions I attached, around page 7 there are instructions on wedge activation.
Ideally you use a custom wedge designed specifically for the jaws of your hitch to give you the best fit.
