Is the Mounting Bracket on the Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195225 Adjustable

Published 02/02/2018

Question:

im looking for a hitch mounted spare tire carrier for a winnebago travato. i have a door mounted bike rack on the rear and wanted to keep the spare tire below it. Does the mounting bracket on your carrier adjust down enough to do this. I need the bottom of the spare tire to be right at the top of the hitch receiver.

I do have a solution for you, but the Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195225 that you referenced actually does not adjust down at all. It can "fall" from one side to the other to make mounting and dismounting your spare tire easier, but it will need to be returned to the upright position for travel.

It can accommodate different wheel size due to the different mounting holes on the mounting plate as you can see at about the 5:20 mark in the attached video.

We do offer another spare tire carrier. Although it doesn't have as many features as the Roadmaster, if your wheel has the bolt holes in the correct positions you could very well use the Curt # C31006 product instead. I have attached photos of the bracket that your spare tire will mount on as well as some other dimensions of the Curt carrier.

I have attached a review video for this spare tire carrier for you to check out as well.
