How to Prevent a Gooseneck Trailer from Scraping the Ground Without Lifting the Trailer
Published 02/01/2018 >
Question:
Good morning. I own a Big Tex Gooseneck Trailer which we use to haul vehicles. When we are pulling out of certain driveways the rear of the trailer scrapes the ground. We dont want to raise the height of the trailer because this will make loading and unloading more difficult. Do you offer a product which would take some wear and tear off the rear of our trailer? Thank you

Expert Reply:
I certainly do. For this you are going to want to install skid wheels which will take some of the brunt off your trailer. For this I recommend using the Ultra-Fab Steel Jumbo Roller part # UF48-979023. These skid wheels will need to be welded on the trailers frame or the components that are scraping the ground. The wheels will not raise the trailer but will eliminate it from scraping the ground if placed in the proper location.
I have attached a review video of the skid wheel for you in addition to a photo of how they could be potentially installed.
