Question:
I have a 2009 Subaru Forester. I am purchasing a small lightweight Scamp travel trailer with electric brakes. It weigh about 1,250 lbs and 125 lbs at the hitch while empty. I will be purchasing the 75650 Draw-Tite receiver hitch. The Scamp factory recommends the Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller. I believe its your Tekonsha Brake Controller TK90160. What all will I need to install it? I will also want to be able to charge the trailers battery. I might also entertain a wireless controller to make it easier to change vehicles if that option is available. Thanks,

If you are considering a wireless controller the Prodigy RF # TK94FR would be a fantastic option that's actually the easiest to install as well. Here's what you'll need to install it.
You'll need to first have a 4-way harness on your 2009 Subaru Forester. If you need one you'd want the part # 118467 which is a custom fit for your vehicle. Now to convert this to a 7-way all you need is the # 37185. You'll plug this into the 4-way and then run 10 gauge wire to the vehicle battery like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) through a breaker like part # 9510 to the positive post of the vehicle battery. Once that wire is completed you'll have the ability to charge a trailer battery and use the brake controller. It really is a super simple install.
This is also a much nicer brake controller than the # TK90160.
