I have a 2012 F250 with an auxiliary fuel tank and a short box can I install a Curt A20 5 th wheel thank you Eric

I talked to the manufacturer and they recommended the Curt Custom 5th Wheel Bracket Kit # C16424-104 this will provide up to 61'' of clearance when installing your 5th wheel hitch on the short bed. The size of the fuel tank would also factor in.
On the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with R20 Slider # C16541 for example, the Hitch height is 17 1/2 to 21 1/2 inches. The Slider travel is 12" front to back. Hopefully, this will provide enough room to fit your needs.
