Question:
could the STL69RCB be used on my 2004 trailblazer while being towed with my motorhome? There is not space to install extra light bulbs in the existing tailights. I will also have to install a light for my license plate. would this meet dot requirements?

For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV. We have confirmed this as a fit on your 2004 Chevy Trailblazer.
I am sure there is a way to use the # STL69RCB as a tow bar lighting option, but it's not something we have available as an easy kit for install.
