will this hitch fit clean and not hit the muffler or ride against the tail pipe?

For your 2018 Chevy Trax the Curt hitch part # C11527 that you referenced is a confirmed fit and was designed not to cause any interference with the exhaust so it would not touch the exhaust or rattle against it.
