Question:

I dont have cross bars just the ones that go along the side. What would I need to install this carrier?

Sounds like you have the factory raised side rails on your 2016 Chevy Trax. If so, you would want the Thule Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401 and 53" WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420 to allow you to carry the Thule Sidekick part # TH78GC. Raised roof rails are ones that you could slide your hand underneath.

If instead you had flush rails that you couldn't slide your hand underneath (not as likely), then you would want the Rhino Rack part numbers # RRVA118B-2 and # RRSX040 to complete the roof rack.
