Question:
Looking at the SportRack 2 platform bike rack. I have a womens trek navigator with a step through frame. Ive looked at the adapter bars but they seem to be for hanging racks. Is the adapter bar necessary? What do you recommend?

Expert Reply:
Adapter Bars like part # 64005 can be used on platform frame mount racks. You'd load the bike as normal and clamp to the bar, rather than the bike frame.
This however requires that you use a cable lock like part # e98891 to secure the bike to the rack, as the frame bar doesn't provide any security.
