Question:

As it turns out, it's not the bevel gears. You know that long threaded bolt that goes down the landing leg? Is the nut that threads on to that. Can that be replaced?

Landing gear is fairly universal in regards to the components like gears. I recommend the Follow Jack Repair Kit for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear # LG-146060. This will work on many brands of landing gear.

If you need to get specific, you can find out what brand of landing gear you have by contacting the manufacturer of your trailer with your VIN number and Serial number.

Unfortunately that screw is not something we have as a replacement piece for landing gear. I recommend you replace your landing gear with the etailer Landing Gear Set - 21-1/8" Travel - 8,000 lbs # RVLG-8000. This will give you a complete functioning kit with matching legs for correct leveling. This landing gear can have a motor if you have and electric set you are replacing.
