For your 2016 Toyota Tundra SR5, because you don't have a tow package we will start at the beginning. If you don't have a working 4-way flat trailer connector, then let's start there. I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # HM11141835.
Once you have the 4-way, then you can use the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7. This kit will allow you to plug in the 4-way and then add the reverse, brake controller output, and 12V power wires. It will include the wiring, connectors, and circuit breakers needed. I've attached a video to assist.
Finally, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller that will apply the trailer brakes with the same intensity and at the same time as you hit the brake pedal in your Tundra. It has easy to understand presets and an LCD screen that makes diagnostics and troubleshooting easy to understand. It also has the manual override for emergency or manual trailer braking boost.
