Battery Life Indicator Recommendation for Trailer Battery
Updated 10/30/2017 | Published 10/29/2017 >
Question:
I have an electrical over hydraulic hydrastar , white and blue and black wires come from actuator pump to backup battery..there is a charger wire I imagine from car. to battery as well.I gather there are now NSW rules requiring ability to read charge level or voltage of battery from cabin.Do I need to run a voltage reader into cabin of car or is the Tekonsha readout on pressing brakes a sufficient indicator for the rules.I suspect not because it is not accessing battery unless breakaway occurs.Thoughts?

For a battery health indicator we have the CTEK part # CTEK56380 which would work well for your application. The wiring would have to be extended to the rear of your vehicle and then to the trailer battery.
The brake controller you mentioned would not give a read out of the battery life of the trailer.
