Longer Shank Recommendation for E2 Weight Distribution System

Question:
Need a longer hitch shank for my e-2 8000 lb wd hitch. Is the 14 inch reese shank compatible? Want to be able to open my truck tailgate . Have to be perfectly straight with trailer 2018 micro minnie just clears by a whisker

For a longer weight distribution shank that would be compatible we have the Curt part # C17122 which measures 16 inches in length.
