Will Timbren Suspension Enhancement Increase Capacity of 2015 Ram 1500
Published 10/26/2017 >
Question:
Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Item # TDR1500DQ I have a 2015 RAM 1500 Laramie Longhorn Crew Cab w/short box 5.7 foot 5.7 L Engine 6900 Gross Weight. Love the truck but payload is only 1097 pounds. Will the item I listed above increase the GW to 8600 pounds? Meaning 1097 + 1700 above 6900GW = 2797 payload. I suspect for legal reasons the web page states do not exceed trucks rated load. Another question...I have Air lift bags installed on this truck. Will adding this item cause any issues with Airlift bags or any other issues with truck that you guys are aware of. Sure like your web site. Very nice. I am in Columbia, MO...how far away are you guys? Thanks for all your help,

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TDR1500DQ referenced in your question are confirmed to fit your 2015 Ram 1500. These springs will do a great job of enhancing the suspension and handling of your truck, especially when under load, however it will not increase the weight capacity of the truck itself.
There are many elements that determine the towing weight or overall capacity of the truck, including the engine, transmission, suspension and overall structural rigidity of the vehicle. As a general rule, the overall capacity of a setup will always be limited by its weakest component. This means that even though the Timbren Springs might have a higher capacity, you will still be limited by your truck's payload capacity. The timbren springs, along with other suspension enhancement products, are essentially available to provide better support that will help the vehicle to better carry its load capacity.
If you were to add these springs to your truck that already has Air Lift Bags installed, there might be some fitment issues. I also wouldn't recommend doing this, as the two systems will likely be redundant and may even offset each other.
Please just let me know if you have any further questions. We are located in Wentzville, MO - so just a hop, skip and a jump away from Columbia.
